Eiffel tower
I am going to talk about the Eiffel tower. The Eiffel tower is the symbol of Paris and France. The tower, which was build by Gustav Eiffel, stands next to the river Seine and is a tourist-attraction with over 6 million visitors yearly. It was built from 1887 to 1889, for the 100th anniversary of the France Revolution and during that none worker died. The Eiffel tower should stand only for 20 years. First the people didn’t want to have the tower. On the top is an aerial with the first phone connections about the ocean. The tower is 300 meter high and over 10.000 tonnes heavy and all 5 years it must be stroked new with 50 tonnes of colour. The tower is made of steel and has 3 platforms for the public: On the first and second floor are restaurants for hungry people. The restaurant on the second floor is one of the most popular restaurants in Paris. It means Jules Verne.
Over 200 Million people have visited the Eiffel tower yet. If it is good weather, you can watch 70 kilometres far away. A visit doesn’t cost more than 11.50 euro. The Tower is open from 9:30 AM to Midnight daily during the summer.
Now I am going to talk about Gustav Eiffel. He was born in 1832 and he died in 1923. He
was involved by the construction of the Statue of Liberty. Many bridges were constructed by him.
I think, a visit of the Eiffel Tower is to be recommended, because it is wonderful.
